Dateline; July 2, 2008 - The word decadence means: Two Years Later 3, 5, 10 what will it take?
A process, a condition, or period of significant deterioration and decline, as in morals, humanity or art; a process or condition of decay and decline.
To decline from a state of normality, excellence, or prosperity; deteriorate; decay. A gradual deterioration to an inferior state: tooth decay; urban decay; societal
decay. A falling into ruin and disrepair.

There are many American citizens who would argue that decadence has attacked the American way of life swiftly not gradually. Further there are multiple causes and
those in position to do something about these horrific conditions (i.e. economic and environmental: local urban & world chaos, turmoil) seem to have been caught
totally off-guard; unawares. Moreover; global warming is accelerating much more rapidly than anticipated.
It seems that the total environment we’ve enjoyed on planet Earth as Americans is under attack and competent serious American leadership has waned.
Environment means:
1. The circumstances or conditions that surround one; surroundings.
2. The totality of circumstances surrounding an organism or a group of organisms, or a people, especially:
a. The combination of external physical conditions that affect and influence the growth, development, and survival of organisms: “We shall never understand the
natural environment until we see it as a living organism and ourselves and other species as interdependent symbionts in a global biosphere.”
b. The complex of social and cultural conditions affecting the nature of an individual, group of people or a community. also global community.
Are we on the verge of the total collapse of the American [middle class] way of life? Symbiosis (Greek symbioun, “to live together”) in biology, term for the
interdependence of different species, which are sometimes called symbionts. There are three main types of symbiosis, based upon the specific relationship between
the species involved: mutualism, parasitism, and commensalism. Symbiosis that results in mutual benefit [reciprocity] to the interdependent organisms is commonly
known as mutualism. Then there is commensalism; a symbiotic relationship between two organisms of different species in which one derives some benefit while the
other is unaffected. In contrast there is the parasite which is an organism that grows, feeds, and is sheltered on or in a different organism while contributing nothing to
the survival of its host. Parasites are an infestation; they contribute nothing positive to any relationship.
Bureaucracy is characterized by:
Management or administration marked by diffusion of authority among numerous offices and adherence to antiquated inflexible rules of operation and or corruption:
“there is something about bureaucracy and those nameless, faceless forces that can crush the life's blood from cultures and societies.” Any administrative system in
which the need or inclination to follow politics or complex procedures impedes effective action; supports corruption: stifles innovative ideas and gets bogged down in
red tape and bureaucracy. Gigantic parasites with a snatch, grab & rapine mentality have seized human society and Mother Gaea by the jugular of the throat in a
predatory death grip.
Americans who happen to be poor as are many veterans; especially disabled veterans fair far worse than most other groups. Increasingly, long tenure workers, “baby
boomers” and seniors are experiencing increased extreme risk.
twenty-eight years with one company, a forty-two year [Corporate America] work history (1964-2004): life long experiences in corporate dominated America,
government service and with private medical and the Veterans Administration Medical Institutions reads like a horror story. Literally these experiences cause me to
wonder what the many thousands of poorer and other veterans are quietly suffering - experiencing. While I don’t believe in any of the popular conspiracy theories;
something is critically wrong with all American Institutions and across the board something is critically wrong with the American infrastructure and our institutions in
particular. Are those in charge asleep at the wheel and how long has this been going on? What’s the reason(s) all this is happening – is the sky falling?
How and why does the V.A. want to gain profits from the veterans it promised to serve free of charge? Poor medical service, no dental service at all, too many foreign
doctors whose names are difficult to pronounce; who obviously don’t care about the patients. Monitored pharmaceutical services that are not monitored. Over and over
again repeated harassment and attempts to extort funds from underprivileged, poor, mentally challenged and disabled veterans. Most veterans use the services only
because they have no other medical options; no where else to turn.
How and why have public administrators failed to provide funding for education, transportation, roads and bridges: the basic infrastructure? Moreover, how and why
have these same public officials and corporate directors failed to protect American workers? How it is possible that the news media keep secret: 60% of the U.S.A. is in
the middle of a severe 10 year long drought and now severe flooding? How could the entire state of Georgia quietly and silently completely run out of water? What’s
happening to [with] all the money government collects from citizens or fails collect from corporations and the wealthy? Additionally, what can be said about jobs, crime,
homelessness, the economy, the environment, 12 million illegal aliens and the indiscriminant pollution of our rivers, lakes and oceans, constant continuous wars etc. and
etc. or does anyone really care? In addition to destruction and devastation; wars cause a tremendous amount of pollution. Whole societies & cultures for generations
grow-up knowing only war and destruction, death and dying. New "vast and abundant" oil discoveries in the Dakotas? What does it all mean?
