Be Sure to Take Your Vitamins
“The mind is the standard of the human: man's survival tool.”
—PAUL LAURENCE DUNBAR, WRITER AND POET
We’re aware of the process by which the body obtains vitamins through food and
water to maintain sound health. To eliminate a vitamin deficiency, you choose food
for your diet that contains the necessary vitamins. Through Nature’s cyclical
miracles the body absorbs vitamins & minerals and distributes nutrients to vital
organs. Vitamin A, for example, protects skin and hair; the B complex develops
stamina; vitamin C wards off disease; vitamin D builds strong bones; and vitamin K
enhances eyesight. These vitamins act within and on the body, keeping us healthy
and fit, and able to act.
But have you heard of vitamin I? Vitamin I develops Inspiration, Intelligence and
Personal Power [IIPP]. To correct a vitamin I deficiency you can purposely select
beneficial external influences to help you achieve the motivation you are seeking.
Vitamin I can be absorbed from numerous sources, a few of which are: And Still I
Rise, by Maya Angelou; A Raisin in the Sun, by Lorraine Hansberry; Up from
Slavery, by Booker T. Washington; Succeeding Against the Odds, by John
Johnson; Live Your Dreams, Les Brown; Green Powers by Arthur G. Gaston; and
the Bible or other spiritual text of your choice. As well as other fine books promoted
on this web site.
Whereas natural vitamins may be taken on a regular basis for a fit body, vitamin I
must be absorbed daily for a healthy and productive mind. Therefore be sure to take
your daily supply of vitamin I. [Vitamin I

Eat and Be Merry
“You’ve got to be hungry!”
—LES BROWN, TAVIS SMILEY; MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER AND TALK-
SHOW HOST
How much do you hope to accomplish today, this week, or this month? Will work
require a significant part of your time? Your family another? Then there’s social
and vacation time to plan, the book you’ve been meaning to read, and the friend
you wanted to visit. According to at least one study, 90 percent of all people fall
prey to procrastination.
Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried; it is the art of keeping up
with yesterday. Marsha Warfield, a comedienne who has constantly battled with her
waistline, quips about the fine art of delaying diets. “One thing you can be sure of—
there will be more people going on a diet tomorrow than those on a diet today.”
Many of us are guilty of putting off tasks until we can accomplish them all at once.
At the same time, most of us are too busy ever to afford the luxury of large blocks
of time to devote to these tasks. Even when such periods appear to be available,
something almost always leads us astray.
So what’s the answer? The answer can be found in a riddle:
“How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.” Just as no one can swallow an
elephant whole, no one can be expected to tackle a major project at one sitting.
Breaking large tasks into thirty-minute sections allows time for the routine, the
urgent, and the long-term jobs each of us face. Breaking the project into small
sessions makes even the most unpleasant of tasks tolerable and eventually allows us
to consume the entire elephant. So dig in, and be sure to clean your plate.
From now on I will break my large tasks down into manageable pieces.
Procrastination & Obesity are the number one killers in this ”
